MASTER TEACHER OUTCOME 2

Outcome 2 Reflection

Articulates, applies and adapts theoretical constructs of learning and development, assessment, and effective instruction.

This Unit Plan was created during my Seminar I class (PSED 520). It is a twelve-day plan designed for middle school or high school at the Spanish I level. The unit is designed for students to learn the cultural aspect of learning a foreign language by learning the perspective of the cultures of Spanish speaking countries.  The unit plan is scaffolded to start as a simple vocabulary buildup and end with a more complex writing assignment.  Students will develop vocabulary and pronunciation in the Spanish language using common language in relevance to Spanish culture and Traditions.

The Unit Plan supports the outcome because the lessons were designed with evidence-based instructional practices to accommodate and meet the needs of diverse learners.  It was built with meaningful assessment that align with the lesson and standards. Creating the unit plan helped me understand the importance of having differentiated activities and provide clear and concise directions that all students will understand. Having a good understanding of the individual needs of our students will help us create instructional planning and activities that will serve the needs of all of our students.
