Outcome 6 Reflection
Performs as a reflective and ethical practitioner who continually evaluates the effects of his or her choices and actions on others (students, parents and other professional in the learning community).
During PSED 521, Seminar II, I created a field experience reflection journal. The journal consisted of a self-evaluation chart in which I evaluated myself according to the Danielson Framework for teaching. Along with that I was evaluated by my mentor teacher.
I completed the field experience at Whitehall-Coplay Middle School in Whitehall. The middle school is located on a campus that houses the high school, middle school, and three elementary schools. The class I observed was an Introduction to Spanish class. The students were eighth graders because Spanish isn’t introduced in the school district until eighth grade. Each class included about 25 students. In total my mentor had about 150 students. It was a great experience. My mentor teacher was wonderful in instructing me of all the possibles of teaching.
